Other questions to consider are…

Does the company you contract have an actual office, warehouse and showroom that you can visit with friendly office personnel to assist you with questions or problems? We do.

Are their technicians well trained, EPA and NATE certified? Do they follow the law and pull the proper permits? Legal installations will greatly reduce any problem you may encounter upon the sale of your property. All Climate Air will provide a permit to keep you covered.

Do they provide a list of references? All Climate Air will. Contractors with a great reputation will work very hard to keep it. References from friends, neighbors, and the Better Business Bureau are good indicators. Our are exemplary.

Do they offer EnergyStar Equipment and Planned Service Agreements and Tune-up programs? We do!

Does the price seem too good to be true? Remember, you get what you pay for. Companies offering cheap prices have to cut corners somewhere, such as no permits, no duct testing and some even operate without insurance or proper license. All Climate Air has all the proper permits, training and insurance; so don’t be afraid to ask.

These are just a few questions to ask to help you make a good choice when selecting an air conditioning contractor and we are happy to answer any of them, anytime!

What is the average life expectancy of an air conditioner?

Most systems have a lifetime of 12 years or less. As your equipment gets older, its efficiency can decrease dramatically. You may notice that it gets noisier and needs to be repaired more often; your not as comfortable and your utility bills are higher.

Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?

There are 5 main questions that need to be covered when deciding to either replace or repair your heating and cooling system.

1. How old is your system?
If your system is more than 12 years old, it may be wiser to invest in a new higher efficient air conditioner with a manufacture warranty rather than paying for a major repair.

2. What is the efficiency of your current air conditioner?
Unfortunately, replacing the parts off your old system will not improve the efficiency. The energy savings with a new air conditioner can be as high as 40% compared to older systems. The money you save by not repairing your old system and with energy savings you could see immediate dividends.

3. What is the overall condition of your air conditioner?
If your system has been taken good care of and maintained, it could be wiser to simply repair it. But if your air conditioner has multiple problems and breakdowns, you should consider replacing it.

4. How long do you plan on being in your home?
If you are moving in the next year or two investing in a new air conditioner will improve the value of your home and might be the incentive a new buyer is looking for, plus you will lower your energy bills while you are in you home. Most manufacturers allow the warranty to pass to the new homeowner.

5. Do you live in an extreme climate?
Air conditioners in extreme climates will work harder, stay on longer and ware out quicker. Energy efficiency becomes very important in an area with an extreme climate, like Bakersfield. Our summers get very hot with many days over 100 degrees, so energy savings can pay for a new system quicker.

My air conditioner is still working, why should I replace it?

If your system is more than 12 years old, it my be wiser to invest in a new more energy efficient air conditioner, which could cut your energy costs and be covered by a manufactures parts and labor warranty. With up to a 23 SEER, replacing an older air conditioner could save up to 50% on cooling energy costs.

What is a SEER rating?

The efficiency of an air conditioning system is rated by a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER).

In general, the higher the SEER, the less electricity the system needs to do its job. SEER ratings for air conditioners and air-source heat pump systems manufactured today range from 13 SEER to 23 SEER, with the highest numbers offering the most savings years after year.

What is an Energy Star Air Conditioner?

Earning the ENERGY STAR means products meet strict energy efficient guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency.

ENERGY STAR qualified central air conditioners have a higher seasonal efficiency rating (SEER) than standard models, which makes then about 14% more efficient than standard models. The Minimum Energy Star performance standards for package systems are 14 SEER with a 11 SEER and for split system its 14 SEER with a11.5 SEER.

Why should I purchase a Planned Service and safety check agreement?

A poorly maintained air conditioner uses 10-30% more energy than necessary.
Proper care of your equipment can save on your heating and cooling bills.

All leading manufacturers recommend regular service to your air conditioner to maintain peak performance. A service agreement will give you peace of mind that your system is operating at peak efficiency and performance.

Why should I have my air ducts tested for leaks?

Your new air conditioner is only as good as the ducts that carry the heated or cooled air. Studies indicate that up to 30% of the heated and cooled air is lost along with the money spent to heat or cool that air – through leaky ducts. Ducts that are a part of your air conditioning system should be tested and sealed for leaks to help make your heating and cooling system significantly more efficient.

How does All Climate Air charge for service and repair work?

We charge by the job, not by the hour!

We have a diagnostic fee for repair and service calls, which covers not only our travel, but also the time necessary to diagnose the problem whether it takes a half hour or two hours. We will give you all your options, and you will know your total cost BEFORE we start the work.

What Brands does All Climate Air Service?

We perform service and repair on most all brands and types of air conditioners. Even if you had another company put your air conditioner in we can still service it, and get any needed repairs covered under the manufactures warranty.
